2 wheel drive - Yes.

Okay, I am going to make the suggestion that Jeep make the JT in an optional low priced 2 wheel drive model. I know some people might shudder at the thought. This would make the JT a real work truck for many industries. Also a lower price would allow many more folks to be able to afford the JT.

If Jeep made this move, I think you would start to see JT’s popping up everywhere, and being used for many purposes. It would become a perfect small utility pickup truck. Tough and durable, it could be a big seller.

first, i own an 85 cj-7, i wanted a scrambler but theyre few and far between these days.

second, jeep = four wheel drive. and only the military/CJ/wrangler styles are jeeps, everything else is well everything else.

on that note they should never make a JT in 2wd if they do it’s an abomination. if you want a 2wd truck go buy a damn ranger. if you want a JEEP buy a jeep not some branded chrysler.

I think it is a good idea. I would want a 4WD but see where a 2WD could expand the market for this vehicle. And let’s face it… Chrysler won’t make the JT unless they can turn out some vehicles. Since the JT is based on the unlimited model… the 2WD front suspension is already available. Pair that with a diesel motor and it would make a great… parts delivery truck, pizza delivery, fleet vehicle, entry level vehicle. Just don’t let the fact that a 2WD drive base model is available jack up the price of my 4WD (becasue now all the off-road stuff I want is now shoved over in the options column… chu-ching)!

I think a 2WD with an optional locking rear diff would get a lot of support from the jetski/small boat guys. Something you can drive right down the ramp and not worry about. And having the Jeep top down fun.

Go ahed and make a 2WD option. They already do for the Unlimited. They have been making 2WD jeeps since the get-go, whats the difference now? If a 2WD option means them making one period. GO FOR IT. I’d buy 4WD though. Have 2007 JK 2dr X 6spd currently, had 79 CJ7 and 90 YJ both with V8’s & autos. Love Jeeps, want a truck too!
