How would you use the Jeep JT.
So lets assume Jeep decides to build the JT. How would you use the new Jeep Truck? I could make a great little work truck. How about a nice custom camper top for the truck bed? Turn it into a small camper truck. Just for fun, I’m sure the JT will be fun just to drive around.
So how would you use the Jeep JT?

First of all, this would be a perfect work truck. I can able to haul stuff, especially a great deal of artwork. I can also pull a trailer, thanks to the leaf springs on the rear axle. Furthermore, if I like to go out for an off road play or drive on a highway, I can take off the top. Jeep is known for it’s convertible pickup.
I would like to see the 4.0 V6 as standard as well as the basic amenities, such as the power steering, A/C, AM/FM CD, and Tilt steering wheel. I just hope the price will be affordable and stick in the compact pickup market.
At the same time, I’m hoping Chrysler is learning to avoid the mistakes for the short-lived pickups such as Gladiator, Honcho, Jeepster, Scrambler and Comanche.

Currently I own a VW Golf GLS(4DR) so this would be the beach ORV I’ve been waiting for since the only good surf breaks in my area are accessible via 4WD or a parking ticket(in season). Get an aftermarket safari type rack for the bed so my boards didn’t have to get banged around. Everything else I’d keep stock especially those sweet wheels. Completes the utilitarian look. I know everyone wants a manual, but it’d also be an everyday driver for me so I’d prefer an automatic. I do however agree that a small (2.8-3.0L) diesel is a must for fuel economy/weight savings. As for interior amenities, no power anything please (if it keeps the price down) and AM/FM stereo-cassette (or whatever the most basic option is these days) is more than adequate. I’d also be happy with a 2WD model if it had a LSD or locking rear differential.

I agree with the comments that, for us empty nesters, it is the perfect size for most of our daily jobs (yard work, upgrade projects). The comment about offering a bed topper would be a great addition for those wet days, and the addition of a locking bed cover would give a secure place to leave the golf clubs between rounds.
Add a removable top and the JT would never be left at home!
I agree a roll cage in the bed would allow for a top luggage rack addition (another must for long weeks out in the wilds) to attach the bikes, luggage, whatever.
And the diesel option would give it the legs to explore the Utah outback (where we live).
I an saving for the down payment!

It would be my daily driver and a promise to “never be without a pickup again”. I no longer need the crew cab pickup and the ability to take this thing as is off road is the biggest selling point for me. Buying a TJ and installing a Brute kit is not an option… don’t have the time or patience. A diesel would be great to offset gas prices… but not a show stopper.

Once again Jeep produces a concept that wets the appetites of Jeep Enthusiasts. Did I say wet. I mean drooling. Please produce this vehicle, I WILL buy it. This, to me, is a great all round vehicle for minor hauling and off-roading/camping capability. I will not however pay an arm and a leg just to get it. So don’t get greedy. Price it right!!
