I gave up my 1999 Jeep Cherokee because I needed a truck around the house and yard. I would give up my Chevy in a "Heartbeat" for a Jeep truck. Build and we will buy it!!!

If they decided to put these into production they should come with different options.
-diesel/regular
-4wd/2wd
-spare mountable in bed/rear/side/hood(maybe)
-hardtop
Jeep better hurry up and sell these before someone does it first.

BUILD IT!!! Please!! it's just so frustrating... I want this car more than anything! there's plenty of demand, why don't they just start making them! It wouldn't have to be some of sort of massive, high-risk nation-wide release or anything, just something to let us die-hards get our wish.

Jeep showed a J8 version at a recent Jamboree. Jeep still insists that it isn't for the U.S. market. We'll have to wait for Mahindra to buy Jeep from Chrysler I guess before we get any progress on this issue. If Jeeps waits too long Toyota is going to rip the cheap, small, pick-up market right out from under them. Jeep has the opportunity, right now, to seal up the market on this. They aren't in the market position to let this opportunity pass. Come on! Is anyone really buying Compasses and Commanders? I didn't think so.

I could use an occasional use light pick-up. Something to load kayaks, mountain and road bikes on. A weekend truck for bags of fertilizer, new gas grill, party supplies, etc. I really don't even need 4wd. I used to have a Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner that served well but the gas mileage really sucked (4dr model). If jeep would build this JT in a 2wd, pre-runner type configuration with larger tires and a locking rear differential, a 4cyl, and a decent automatic trans, that would be a vehicle I could make real use of, especially if it could come in under $20K. It is a Jeep, I don't really need A/C, roll-up windows would be okay for me. I just need a decent, cheap hauler. Jeep! Are you listening?

I presently own a 96 Cherokee Sport and 2004 Liberty, but the JT is the one I want. Just the size my wife and I need (empty nesters). The size shown is perfect for most of the jobs I get tasked with.
Three suggestions: 1: make the hardtop removable (fun factor); 2: put the spare wheel either on the side or on the hood (like the old landrovers); and 3: diesel power option, with enough guts to tow! Gets better gas milage too!
I am in line with my check!!!
